Story Time

In the midst of a few invitations I have to get done this summer I also promised myself I would tackle the illustration ideas I have had in my head for awhile.  The first one is a tribute to my Nana. She was quite the story teller and inspires me on a daily basis. In this piece I want to capture the "magic" my sister and I would feel whenever we slept over her apartment in the Bronx. Only Nana Lab could make a tiny apartment in the heart of the Bronx magical.

I am almost done with my value study- next will be a color study and then I will start the actual painting. Stay tuned!

Birthday Party Invitation

card size: flat 4" x 6"

A birthday party boat tour around Manhattan!

Ladies

I am not sure yet where these ladies are headed, but when I am in between projects I like to spend time adding to this series. They are all done in gouache and are approximately 2" x 2". The fun part is I don't totally know what the lady will be like when I start the painting, which gives them their own personal flavor. Stay tuned for more additions!

Save the Date

Save the Dates are becoming one of my favorite things to do, especially for couples I know well. Since there are no real rules for save the dates, they are a great way to get to know the couple on a more intimate level. This is a job I did for a childhood friend of mine and his fiance who met while in film school together. They are getting married in an old Landmark Theater and loved the idea of creating an old Hollywood style movie ticket as their save the date. It was an honor to do this for them and I can't wait for the wedding!
